throne of glass book review
Throne of Glass Book Review
Are you a child in your teen/ tween years? Are you someone looking for something to read as in something that’s actually interesting! I have got just the book for you. Seriously this book is amazing! It’s got fantasy, adventure, lots of action and even the slightest bit of romance.
Throne of Glass is a fiction book written by Sara J Mass. I would recommend this book for children aged 11 to 16 because it has some strong content in it that would be too much for younger children but I think that this age group is old enough to handle it in a mature way.
Most of the story is set in Rifthold which is the capital city of Aradon. Aradon is the largest country in the continent of Erilea
The main characters in this book are Celaena Sardothien, Chaol Westfall, Dorian Havilliard, Nehemia Ytger, Cain, the king of Aradon, Nox and Kaltien. Celaena is an eighteen year old assassin who gwas caught and now is a slave in Evander,a salt mine slave camp. Celaena gets the opportunity to go into a competition in which she could finally get her freedom after five years of being the king’s assassin… but only if she wins.
Chaol is captain of the guard in the castle serving for the king. Then the competition comes along and his best friend Dorian chooses to enter Celaena and it becomes his job to look after this snobby teenage brat, or so he thinks.
Dorian is the crown prince of Aradon and best friends with Chaol. When Celaena comes to the castle for the competition Dorian thinks he might of actually found love other than the thousands of girls that have swooned over him in the past.
Nehemia is the princess of Eyllwe. She is a strong leader and will do anything for her country and stopping her people from becoming slaves of the king of Aradon. She goes to Rifthold to supposedly learn about the Aradon way of life and ends up becoming best friends with Celana.
There isn’t really much to say about the king of Aradon. He’s just some evil king who took over the whole continent, slaughtered heaps of people and somehow managed to get rid of magic.
Cain is the Duke of Perrenton’s entry into the competition. He is from the White Fang Mountains where there is rumoured to still be magic but he is not the nicest person to be around.
Nox is the only person in the competition to be nice to celana throughout it. They help each other to keep going and complete the elimination challenges.
Katlian is one of the ladies in waiting To the Queen. She is very beautiful and comes with family rumoured to be Richer in the King but she is very snobby and spends most of her time trying to win over Dorian.
I think that this book ralits to me because me and celaena both started fighting training at a young age and I feel like I can connect to her personality and we are really similar people.
In conclusion I think Throne of Glass is a good book that you should definitely read!
I think you will really enjoy it especially if you like drama, adventure and fantasy books.

ride of the supers
Ride Of The Supers
Sleeping, I have been for many years wondering what inhabits this planet. Are the humans still there? I saw them about 2 hundred years ago when I last woke up.
My siblings Flameatou and Ashfer had told me about these creatures.
They had been in their countries for hundreds of years but it was the first time
I had seen them in Aotearoa. They were deadly hunters, colonising the
world but weak like most creatures.
They were smarter than most animals and getting stronger by the day,
still I decided not to blow.
I have blown before, about 300 thousand years ago.

I have blown before, about 300 thousand years ago.
I was bored, there nothing to do and plus that annoying worm bug keep
waking me up. The eruption took care of him but that wasn’t the only thing.
It took care of Flameatou and Ashfer all the way from where they were
on the earth. Apparently humans in Greece had recorded red skies for months.
Still I wasn’t surprised after all I was the taniwha of one of the
super volcanoes;I can destroy half the world.
What would be really dangerous is if Flameatou and Ashfer and me
blew at the same time.

blew at the same time.
Any way, it was time to go see the world and what had happened
to it in the time that I was sleeping. I opened one eye.
The light rushed, in blinding me but I shook it off and flew up through the
tunnel to ski through the water. Oh, I forgot. A lake had formed on top
of the volcano. And now I’m drenched!
But I’ve got bigger problems than that, I thought, looking over the land.
What happened to the bush? The beautiful forest?
The sound of the bird’s, the majestic moa and the Haast eagle?
That was a funny bird last time I was awake.
I saw it pick up 5 year old children and carry them off.
But now it’s all gone, all of it and in its place... is trouble!
Big metal cubes billowing out smoke, the
ground covered in stone, smaller objects whizzing around
but still leaving trials of smoke and a weird brightly colored material that
people keep dropping on the ground. Whatever it is, it is not good for the
environment.I fly back to the volcano as fast as I can.
I need to call Ashfer and Flameatou.
I get to the volcano and slowly breath
some fire, instantly it roars up into the air.
After a while the dancing flames start forming into my troublesome siblings.
Even though they are just holograms it looked like they were actually there.
“Have you seen the disgrace the humans have turned this beautiful
planet into?” I said hastily.
“They need to go so we need to blow, all three of us and now.”
“Are you sure this is a good idea?” asked Ashfer.
“It’s what we need to do. The humans are destroying the earth and we
need to stop them,”said Flameatou.“Right, it’s settled then.
Let’s do it now, the sooner the better,” I said and then hung up.
need to stop them,”said Flameatou.“Right, it’s settled then.
Let’s do it now, the sooner the better,” I said and then hung up.
I went down to the bottom of the volcano, in and blew.
The lava rumbled getting higher. It sprang out the top and into the air,
the fiery red storm devouring everything in its path.

my self poem
I am from a tree hut
From homemade muesli and sand
I am from the house across the road were everything thing is warm and familiar
I am from the crack willow tree from the dance floor the cabbage tree
I am from the sounds of chookes
And the stormy waves
From my unmade bed
I’m from dads tortellini and his mild currys
I’m from reading and walking
Dance and chess
I’m “from get up” and “clean your room”
From the pages of throne of glass
And twinkle twinkle little star
I am from chess and chess tournaments
I am from biking around greymouth
I’m from my living room and newzealnd
From pizza and pasta
I’m from my nana pam
How though a water mellan out the car window
I’m from gallagher wine glass.

Māui And Tamanuiterā
In the first part of this story the villages are upset because
Tamanuiterā moved across the sky too fast and no one had enough time to do all the things
they needed to do. Then Māui said to his four brothers,”I shall slow Tamanuiterā,”
but his brothers just laughed at him.

In the second part of the story Māui and his brothers are making ropes then
Māui tells them to go to bed and Māui joins all the ropes together into a big net.
He chants a karakia to make the net as strong as a thousand men.

They get there just as Tamanuiterā is rising. So they throw the net over Tamanuiterā
and then Māui starts to hit Tamanuiterā. He hits the sun until Tamanuiterā agrees to slow down.

The end
When our group worked on the play Māui and the sun I played the sun.
One thing I really enjoyed was working together and making props.
I think one thing we did really well was learning our lines.
As a team we got our play to performance level and participated and contributed because
we all did our bit. Our performance did well because we practiced.
Next time we could listen to everyone and be a bit easier on people.
